Propaganda
Anyone who thinks the (so called) Palestinians just want "their" land back is delusional or has fallen for propaganda. THE ARABS WANT THE JEWS DEAD!
To start with there has never been a country called Palestine. The entire area was called Palestine by the Romans after they drove the Jews out around the second century A.D. and then again briefly by the British after WW1. If you look at a map pre 1948 the area that is now Israel and what is now commonly referred to as "the west bank" were part of "Trans Jordan" The people who lived there were mostly nomad Bedouin tribesman and citizens of Trans Jordan. The real power at that time all over the middle east was England, having taken it from the Ottoman Turks in WW1.
After WW2 and the holocaust it was decided by the United Nations to establish a Jewish homeland in the land that the Romans had driven them out of.
I do get so tired of constantly having to restate history that anyone would know for themselves if they cared to look, but no it's just too easy to believe the propaganda that it was the Jews that put the poor Palestinians in "concentration" camps when it is the "P.L.O." who keep their people in camps. Again for propaganda purposes.
On to the current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah this is part and parcel of our so called war on terror. It's the same enemy whether it goes by Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Qaida or whatever. It is ludicrous to say Israelis "created their own enemy" any more that we created our own enemy on 9/11/2001. These people want us dead, both Israel (who they call the little Satan) and America (who they call the great Satan)
I believe it is time for the United States to restate what President Bush said shortly after 9/11 "we at war on terror, if you support terror you are a terrorist and we're at war with you". We must stop fretting about collateral damage and start acting like we are serious about winning this war.

Yes, Dear. :-)
"we at war on terror, if you support terror you are a terrorist and we're at war with you"
Yep!
I read some middle east history a few years ago and it covered what you said about Palestine and Trans Jordan. Also,it mentioned the King of Jordan kicked Arafat out of Jordan because he was causing trouble there.
When I realized that the refugee camps were as old as me, I was shocked.
What you said, Walker. "Exactly!" 'nuff said!
When I first read this, I thought, "Boy, Walker has changed" and then I relaized it was posted by Mark.
Yes, Patrick, Mark prefers I keep silent on the subject at home, thus, I've actually come to see his point of view, sort of. Not completely. But sort of.
