Kevin Willis shines some light

The other day I dashed off a mini-rant about Natalie Maines' alleged humility.

This prompted erstwhile commenter, the liberal BB-Idaho, to demonstrate the Natalie Maines mentality here on this blog. First, BB insulted country music, then he insulted country music fans, and finally he asserted that because country music fans were not generally liberal, it was because of a conspiracy. Presumably it is not because elitist idiots just like BB-Idaho don't like country music, and don't like country music fans or anything they stand for.

This is exactly the problem Natalie Maines has. She loathes country music and country music fans: The very people who made her rich. And she thinks that she can insult her fans and they should respond by buying more of her albums.

You really must read Kevin Willis' absolutely fantastic dissection of the controversy. (Although, if I could but get my editorial paws on Kevin's copy, it would be shorter -- *maniacal laugh* -- MUCH shorter.)

DRACONIAN? LOL

That's a writer, for you. They complain whilst us editors make them stars.

Oh, and, yes, thanks ever so much for that clickable link. It does help.
