LOL his belly sure isn't red and his head sure is. But nonetheless, he is a red-bellied woodpecker!
he is gorgeous. I only occasionally see a downy woodpecker around our yard. Out on the creek walk I've seen (and heard the loud whacks) of a pileated woodpecker. Those guys are huge.
