Pandering to Democrats

``Wall Street is the villain in the things that happened in the subprime lending crisis and other areas where investigations and possible prosecution is going on,'' John McCain said during a taped appearance on ABC's ``This Week'' program.

Is there a conservative on earth who believes this? Because I just think the cause of the subprime lending crisis was gambling: People gambling that housing prices would go up by taking subprime ARMs. Lenders were in the game, to be sure, since they were actually loaning money to people who didn't qualify. But the fact is: the mortgage crisis was caused by gambling and greed on the part of everyday people who now want us to bail them out. Looks like we're going to. But I'm not ready to blame Wall Street for this.
