Fire update
We have finally seen an adjuster, 12 days after our fire! Holidays, vacations, etc., made it impossible to get one there sooner.
We have a temporary house, thank God, that we'll move into on Tuesday. Hotels can get very uncomfortable when they are not in a vacation spot. :-)
Thanks Pamela, JuneBug, Kevin, Fish, and everyone for your comments.
Our furniture has been packed off for cleaning. We lost very very few personal things, like pictures and such. The fire really just burned out the floors and walls on the south side of our house.
I hate working on this laptop and I am sick of this hotel.
We'll get the dogs back on Tuesday!! Yippee!! Little guys have probably lost hope.
Haven't had the heart to take any more pictures.

Better news anyway! We are in the process of building a new unattached garage near our house. It will be a quick process to get it up. Then a slower process to insulate and add other things such as electricity and gas. I hope your house gets fixed quickly. I hope it works out to look better than you could have imagined after it's through.
Thanks for the update.
Good news that most of your personal things were saved.
did I miss the cause?
Thanks Pamela and Junebug.
I think I must have said how the fire started? Our pipes wre frozen (do I need to say moare?), Dropped off our handyman at 4 pm to thaw the pipes with his salamander and told him: We'll be back in a half hour. Stay for supper! But at 4:06 he called to say the house was on fire. High winds blew his salamander flame throughout the crawl space.
