Now THAT is thinking ahead

Imagine seven fun-filled days with trust funders like Katrina vanden Heuvel and sanctimonious blowhards like Ralph Nader aboard the people's cruise ship booked by The Nation! With a large inside cabin for two priced at just $2,000, you can support the interests of The Nation's comrades and you can do it in style. Plus you'll get to hear unhinged rants for a solid week -- up close and personal!

And, not to worry:
"...And we've partnered with Eco-Logic to re-forest a recently devastated area in Guatemala, paying for the planting of enough trees to offset the carbon emissions of each passenger on the Nation cruise."

Well that is a relief!

But... wouldn't each passenger emit carbon even when not on the Nation cruise? Perhaps we could inspire each potential Nation cruiser to hold his breath for the next 20 years to cure Global Warming.

Cargo cultist global warmers

The Global Warming crowd reminds me of a Cargo Cult. At the heart of a south Pacific cargo cult is the notion that the cultists behavior itself can bring cargo. So they build fake planes and worship runways and the like. If cargo comes, they were right. If cargo doesn't come, they haven't done enough.

The Global Warming crowd has exactly the same mentality. They think they are the center of the universe and everything they do either brings sun or keeps it away.

Of course, with the Warming cultists, the behavior of some people is infinitly worse than the behavior of other people. Thus, it is the activities of man in America, not China really, that most alarms the Warming cultists. The Global Atmosphere cares what we do in America. We must build fake planes and worship runways. We must sacrifice ourselves in a volcano or the end of the world is coming.

We are at once in control of the climate and at the mercy of it.

Smart stuff

"The society that puts equality before freedom will end up with neither. The society that puts freedom before equality will end up with great measures of both."

My favorite tight end shows his colors

Dungy in the driver's seat

Thanks for the picture, Sally!

Through my front door

Pamela at The Dust Will Wait had a list of blogs with pictures of the view from their front doors. It was fascinating!

Here is the view from my front door last year because I am too busy right now to go out and take one. This was taken early one winter morning at sunrise.

Yee haw, Colts

One reason Mark and I knew the Bears would win a ticket to the Superbowl is that we will be in Chicago on Superbowl Sunday. So we'll be the only freaking Colts fans in the city. We're going to stay in our hotel room that night and order room service and cheer our heads off.

The COLTS WON! Did you hear?

Hoosier Boy got the point differential correct (is that called the 'spread'? Help me out here) but he missed the score by a touchdown and some.

Mark is never happy unless the Colts have a cushion of, like, 35 points at halftime so Mark was not happy most of the way through the game.

But I thought it was great!!!!!!!!!!

GO COLTS!

Two hours till game time!

Black people love them

Check out this Website. Hilarious! It rather unconsciously mocks liberals more than anything else.

Don't you hate how liberals think they have some sort of secret handshake that makes it obvious to blacks that they are the only ones in the world that aren't racist?

What amazes me is how many of their letters were from black people who didn't get the joke. Revealing in a way. If you just read the letters from blacks, you might get the idea that blacks loathe white liberals.

Maybe white liberals feel this and that is the reason white liberals constantly patronize blacks in that needy way. Love me! I'm a good person! Conservatives hate you! But I have the secret handshake! *I* love you.

Yech.
