Just a reminder ... Organ 'donors' are LIVING not dead

'Brain dead' people are not dead. 'Brain death' is an invention of 'modern' medicine that reminds us that, if we are in a coma and can't talk, we're in trouble, buddy.

See one thing people don't understand: You can't transplant organs from a dead person to a living one. The organ has to be removed from a LIVING human being.

Not that I see anything wrong with organ 'donation' -- though let's face it the phrase should be 'organ removal.' I do think there are accident victims whose bodies are sustained ONLY by machines and who demonstrate zero brain activity. But, as we have seen with certain celebrated murder ... whoops... 'right to death' cases the line tends to be drawn by people who don't want to be inconvenienced. So, remember, if you get hurt in an accident, you better make damn sure you start squirming around quick-like. Don't lay there like a dead person:

OKLAHOMA CITY - Four months after he was declared brain dead and doctors were about to remove his organs for transplant, Zach Dunlap says he feels "pretty good."

Dunlap was pronounced dead Nov. 19 at United Regional Healthcare System in Wichita Falls, Texas, after he was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident. His family approved having his organs harvested.

As family members were paying their last respects, he moved his foot and hand. He reacted to a pocketknife scraped across his foot and to pressure applied under a fingernail. After 48 days in the hospital, he was allowed to return home, where he continues to work on his recovery.

On Monday, he and his family were in New York, appearing on NBC's "Today."

"I feel pretty good. but it's just hard ... just ain't got the patience," Dunlap told NBC.

Dunlap, 21, of Frederick, said he has no recollection of the crash.

"I remember a little bit that was about an hour before the accident happened. But then about six hours before that, I remember," he said.

This guy just better hope he gets his memory back. No telling how far the definition of brain death is going to get stretched.

Easter Song: Paul's Gospel.....Singer: Smart Alec (29 sec)

This is just funny as hell. The song is about the Apostle Paul and all the places God sent him. But Mark (the son of a Pentecostal preacher) makes up his own words for me, a Catholic.

My puppy Banger is afraid of the leash: 6 seconds

Drat!

Here is a six second movie of Banger. He looks really really droopy about being on the leash.

Speaking as a typical white person...

Whites have a bad habit. We say nothing about blacks and this is supposed to prove we aren't racist. And, if anyone says anything critical in any way about blacks, then both blacks and white instantly claim the critic is racist.

This does nothing to advance the cause of truth.

So here are some things I typically think about typical blacks:

1. Blacks in a group at movies are typically rude and loud.

The last time this happened to me in a movie was the last time I went to a movie. I didn't stay because the blacks made it impossible to hear the movie. My opinion was that they did this to intentionally make whites uncomfortable. A kind of urban terrorism, with an implied threat of violence.

The white value: Be quiet and respectful of others while in a movie.

You also see this bad behavior by blacks at our local schools. Black students line up in the local high school and block the way of white students. They will surround weak looking white students and harass them. They will jeer white students as they pass. And all this is allowed by the school.

2. Blacks in a group are typically hostile and surly.

Observe a group of blacks at a restaurant and notice how belligerent they are to the server. It can range from passive aggressive silence when the server speaks to them to outright rudeness.

The white value: Be pleasant to people who are trying to serve you.

3. Blacks alone or in a group typically will hollar racism if they don't get what they want from the most trivial thing to the most important.

I had a black employee who wanted to get unemployment and the best way was to hollar racism. On his first day at work, he put a dead rat in the toilet and said it was because someone hated him. It was downhill from there.

The white value: Be prepared for roadblocks. They aren't an excuse for failure.

Oh, and the corollary to number 3:
3a. Blacks refuse to do anything useful until the entire society is stripped of every vestige of racism.

The white value: Someone is always going to hate you. Move on.

4. Blacks have typically not earned their positions, but instead have been promoted by affirmative action.
I have my story about this. You have your story. Everyone knows it. Affirmative Action means black before white. Simple as that. But the interesting thing is that it backfires. Whites have to be better and more skilled to get promoted. Blacks don't have to work as hard. So it simply gives blacks the reputation of getting something without the qualifications (which they do) .

The white value: Work hard.

5. Blacks are typically more interested in sports than in academics.
And I might point out that, by virtue of point number 4, they don't have to be interested in academics. In the 1960s, white liberals decided to buy blacks off with entitlements to give them a free ride in America. The ones who didn't decide to go the entitlement route, now skate through Affirmative Action. They don't have to be interested in academics.

Indeed, black culture seems radically ANTI-intellectual, ANTI-study, ANTI-academics. Interestingly this stupid value, still doesn't prevent those who want to advance from advancing because of Affirmative Action.

The white value: Study.

6. Black people are typically more ready than whites to become violent and when they get into groups that is exactly what they do.

Witness, for example, Black Expo in Indianapolis -- A three day exercise in black bad behavior.

The white value: Don't become violent.

Another thing about blacks that no one seems to mention:

I don't believe there is a white family in America that doesn't have black relatives (or vice versa). Go to Wal-Mart. You'll see the races have pretty much mixed. And the truth is that like BO, most of our relatives are just as much white as black.

When we raise mixed-race children as whites, they should learn to call themselves white. Our values are more intelligent, and loving and our culture more civil than black culture.

What BO reminds us

Simply put, Barack Obama reminds us that it is okay to be racist against whites. He is and you can be too. Jump in. The water's fine!

Bluegrass + coonhound = 2 min

Here's a bluegrass song that describes the effects of all liberal policies. Snort!

But note the coonhound. Don't you think the lovely coonhound, Fiddle, just makes this video?

The Spitzer affair

I'm laughing at various Democrats weighing in on television saying: A person's private morality is not my business but...

Even now, as perverse and coarse as liberals have made this society, aren't you amazed that the culture STILL has certain standards of behavior and STILL honors right and wrong? If you don't believe it, then ask yourself why Elliot Spitzer is resigning. Is it just because he overpaid the whore or is it because he put himself in the company of a whore?

Liberalism has succeeded in changing many aspects of morality, chief among them the notion of what is murder. Killing one's husband has been found legal many times. Indeed, killing men is usually legal, unless they are wearing the uniform of the enemy, in that case, it is merely immoral but can be illegal if the liberals get ahold of you. On the other hand, killing women is still illegal but killing infants in the womb is legal, as is killing them after birth. Killing toddlers is a misdemeanor punishable by a weekend in the county jail.

But I'm really amazed that whoring is still considered wrong. (Unless you are homosexual and then you can be Barney Frank and run whores out of your congressional office and it becomes an issue of gay rights.)

By the way, the best commentary on this so far is by Scott Ott.

Morning treats (50 seconds)

Who cares about this crap? No one. Nonetheless, here it is. This is the equivalent of Patrick and Chas' farm report, only a tad less diverse in the animal kingdom. And by the way, we haven't seen any farm reports from Robin's Wood in a while. What gives? You boys are entirely too consumed with the election. Or maybe the farm is boring during the winter?

My morning treats video is just to prove I have plenty of dogs left, albeit none as sweet as Maggie May. Fiddle is new to the group. I just found the silly, hungry hunting dog in the middle of a cold cold winter. She blends perfectly into snowy woods but since she howls like the hound dog she is, the camouflage isn't exactly useful.

Good bye Maggie

This is the last photo I took of my dog Maggie. On Feb 20 or so she began limping and by Feb 29, she was completely lame, unable even to sit upright. She went to the vet four times in those 9 days. Cost us about $800 but in the end it turned out she had a ruptured disk and was bleeding in her spine.

Poor girl, was bright eyed and seemingly healthy to the end, making it so hard to put her down.

She stayed at one vet's office for two days and we came to visit her. She was sad and scared, but no better. The vet advised us to take her home for a few days and see if she improved. So we did. She had a really joyous reunion with the rest of our dogs. She wagged every part that moved and the other dogs came and leaped around her and barked and licked her. I bought her a snow sled so I could pull her 50 pound butt around because she couldn't move and couldn't even sit up.

But a few days later she was clearly alarmed and frightened that she couldn't move and she thought she should be able to. She rode on my lap to the vet's office and looked out the window. Then I held her as the vet gave her an injection and she died.

We miss her so much.
